First race in 2009 in the Toyota MR2 championship (turned my road car of the time into my first race car). Competed in 3 race weekends… hooked
More funding for 2010 meant that I could compete in nearly all the race weekends (missed 2). Also joined a team so I could focus on racing. This bought my first podium with a 3rd at Anglesey, and a best qualifying of 4th at Cadwell Park. I finished 8th in the championship
We hit the ground running in 2011 (still in the Toyota MR2 championship, my old road car) with a race win at Brands Hatch. The season progressed well with my first pole position at Mallory Park in the soaking rain. Donington was a highlight of the season where I scored pole position, race win and fastest lap. I ended the season at Cadwell Park with the championship going to the wire in the final race. I finished second which was enough to win the championship.
And that’s it, I’ve not been around on this scene for long…
I have always loved cars from a young age but didn’t get the chance to explore my passion until I graduated university and could afford to fund my passion.
I work as a design engineer designing and developing mine field clearance equipment.
